another compliment?
last night elias wanted me to put him to bed instead of david because I'M soft. uuuuh, ya mean fat? not feelin' any bones or even muscle there buddy while I'M holding you? oh well, it made me feel good coming from a 2 year old. IF my hubby wants to mention that i'm soft....well that would be a completely different issue!

bla
we leave for vacation in a few days and i'm sick. my laundry isn't done, i'm not packed and i'm definitely not ready for a 15 hr car ride. the bad thing is, is that with there being 7 of us in this house, someone else is probably next. that could mean sick in the car. or sick on the beach. or sick in the pool. sick somewhere else but home. hopefully noone else will get it. or it won't last very long.
damn that sick bug.
damn that sick bug.

i said i was going to bed early
but here i sit in the dark at the computer. i was thinking of a new name for my blog. "i'm a christian and i cuss." i used to cuss alot. more than i do lately. my 13 year old was picking up on it. as was the 2 year old....."goshdammit". i know, i know. i actually said that one a few times. at least he didn't pick up "F***". SEE??? in my heart of hearts i want to TYPE the word, but alas i am afraid. don't want anyone to think the worst of me. when what i REALLY want to SAY is "F***". one of my favorite christian musicians cussed. we toured with her for 3 1/2 mths. once. she cussed ALOT. she also sang fabulous songs that touched the heart of God and came back to ours. she also cussed ALOT. it didn't seem to bother her much. my friend rich cussed ALOT as well. especially when it was called for. he threw in some righteous anger as well. he loved God. God loved him. he seemed to enjoy cussing. ALOT. i have a friend who cusses and i love hangin with her because i can cuss to my hearts content. she still loves me. i think i'm mostly trying to convince myself. i have a bumper sticker that says "my friends kick ass". i have a friend who wants me to cover it up when she's around because she doesn't want her kids to be offended or shocked that i would have that on my car. i said maybe i should have "God kicks ass" on my van. that might fit in better at my homeschool co-op. i'm going to continue to cuss. maybe not so much around my kids. (i don't want people to think i'm a bad mom). but i will. it feels good for some unknown reason. it's extremely theraputic to let some words fly. i workout at curves and my friend there who i see early morning loves to cuss. we really like it when no-one else is there. exercise your body. exercise your freedom of speech. all that being said, i doubt i'll change my blog name. you can just figure out for yourself what the thousand words at my house are.....

two very important lessons
1. ALWAYS make sure there is toilet paper in the bathroom before you sit.
2. ALWAYS make sure there is a towel hanging in the bathroom before you get in the shower.

a novel idea
my youngest quit nursing a few months ago. YEAH! i mean, it was fun and all, but it is SO nice to have them back. even though one is smaller than the other. SO, i just realized i can now tuck my shirts in. 3 years i've avoided it and 2 years before that....isabel nursed til i was about 6 mths pregnant with elias SO i've worn untucked shirts for about 5 years now. not that all shirts should be tucked in, but with a big belt, low-cut jeans and the right shirt, my fat rolls look almost non-existent....if i hold my breath and don't sit down....but i can TUCK my shirt in!
p.s. if anyone is wondering why you can't tuck your shirt in when you're nursing...it's because it is a major PAIN to tuck and re-tuck and tuck and re-tuck and tuck and re-tuck everytime your kid wants a sip. which sometimes is more often than not....

constant interruption
this is how it goes. my day. not really my day. the day. my kids day. somehow i've morphed into a being who answers to a 13 year old, an 11 year old, a 8 year old, a 5 year old and an almost 3 year old. and today i wanted another one! i can hear sharon's voice ringing in my head "WHAT THE HELL?". i know, i know, it's insane. it's crazy. i mean, right now, the 13 year old is laying on the floor WAITING PATIENTLY for the computer. i mean, on the floor right at my feet. there are graham cracker crumbs in MY bed from someones afternoon snack in MY bed. i mop, they track in dirt. i clean the toilets, they pee all over them. i wash their clothes, they dirty them. 5 minutes after they get them out of the clean clothes. i spend hours making a great meal. they turn up their noses, push the food around the plate and get a bowl of cereal. and i want another one of these beings to interrupt my life, to give me kisses when i least expect it, to hug me all day, to giggle when i tell a joke, to smile at me for no reason. i should stop while i'm ahead. i should be logical. but everything in me says this is what I was made to do. i mean, i really don't have anything else to do at the moment. (which is precisely the reason to NOT have more!) no pressing dreams. no major talents that need to be unleashed. i had a great life before kids and i really have no big desire to go back there or recapture what i once had. it would be futile anyway as life tends to change and you can never really go back. so my day, the day will constantly be interrupted now and for today....i'm okay with that. my eldest just SIGHED. "are you ALMOST done???!!!" yes, no, maybe so.......
